Spark Cleantech is a fast-growing and innovative start-up developing a breakthrough process that replaces the combustion of hydrocarbons in high-temperature industrial furnaces and in materials production with an alternative that is not only fully decarbonised, but also economically competitive and requires only minimal adaptation to existing industrial processes.

Following the successful deployment of an industrial pilot on a client site in 2024 and a major funding round in 2025, we are now building our first industrial standard.

🎯 Your Role

Within the Product Department, SPARK is looking for a Test & Validation Technician capable of maintaining, operating, and securing the laboratory equipment and test benches used in the validation of its plasma-based technologies.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Test Execution & Support

Execute already validated test protocols (generator, torch, POC experiments) assisted by tests engineers

Assist Test engineers during test campaigns: setup, monitoring, data logging, preliminary analysis

Document test conditions, anomalies, and observations with accuracy and rigor.

Instrument care & maintenance

Ensure the proper upkeep, calibration, and availability of all laboratory instruments.

Track instruments status, maintenance schedules, and alert the team of any malfunction or drift

Test bench and gas installation, safety and reliability

Install, inspect and maintain gas lines and connections (hydrogen, nitrogen, methane or other process gases) in accordance with safety standards and best practices

Collaborate with the Test & Validation team to ensure test benches are always in robust reliable and safe operational state

Act as a first line safety observer in the laboratory identifying hazards and reporting nonconformities

🧠 Your Profile

Education: Technical diploma (BTS, DUT, Licence Pro) in instrumentation, measurement, industrial maintenance, or equivalent field.

Experience: 2+ years in a technical or industrial laboratory environment; experience in a R&D or cleantech lab is a strong plus.
Language: French (required) — English (technical reading & professional speaking).

Hard Skills:

Hands-on proficiency with laboratory instruments (pressure sensors, flow meters, thermocouples, DAQ systems).

Knowledge of gas installation standards and safety procedures (high-pressure, flammable, or inert gases).

Ability to read and follow technical protocols, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams is a plus.

Familiarity with electrical and/or pneumatic systems is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Rigorous, methodical, and safety-conscious.

Good communicator — able to report clearly to engineers and flag issues proactively.

Collaborative team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
